Maya Vlaanderen

Maya Vlaanderen was born in Amsterdam on 16-4-1954

She has always been attracted to drawing and painting. She won prizes at the Noordwijk painters festival in 1997, and she took lessons from Aad Veldhoen, that made her more professional.

Later on she started her education at the classic academy in Groningen where she studied for 6 years and graduated in 2018 on graphics and painting. Among her teachers were famous painters like Henk Helmantel, Svetlana Tartakovska and Sam Drukker.

Her graphic work is typical with very fine lines, her paintings are meticulously painted in oilpaint on panel. She has had several expositions in Holland and abroad.
